..dehradun...

Dehradun, a nice place to visit in north India. Situated in a valley, the city is good for a lot of things. Best schooling in army and other reputed schools like The Doon School, a nice tourist place with number of places nearby to visit, institutes life IMA, FRI etc. But the purpose of my visit was different, Air Force Selection Board. Yes, Air Force. It was my first attempt to join armed forces and surprisingly reached much farther than I hoped.
I cleared the entrance test and was called to Dehradun for further selection procedure.

28th April
I was just done with my exams on the previous day. I boarded the train along with two other guys from my collage, Rishabh and Harsh. I knew Rishabh earlier but it was the first time I met Harsh. On the next morning, we were in Dehradun. We checked into a hotel near the station and after relaxing for a while, went out for roaming. We were hungry, so we went to McDee for a meal. Since it was hot outside, so after the meal we decided to go for a movie instead of roaming in the sun. I can’t really say how the movie and importantly how the hall was. It was an ultimate experience. After movie, we went back to the hotel, slept for a while and then again went out for dinner. After returning back, we prepared a bit for the next day and slept with a hope that we will give our best.
Seriously saying, at that time I was in favour of returning back home the same day but not alone.

30th  April
It was the day we were to go to the selection board and perform. We were picked up from the station by the board and taken to the selection board.
After reaching the board, we were first provided with our chest numbers and then we filled the forms.
And then started the selection procedure after a cup of tea. The written exam went good and then it was time for something I was really scared of, GD. But unbelievably it went even better than the previous test. It was my best performance till date and I was really hoping to clear the first elimination phase and the same happened.
After some time, the result was announced. I was surprised to hear that I was the second person to clear but sadly both of my friends couldn’t make it and went home the same day. I was really not expecting this and wanted to go home but couldn’t.
After that, we were given new chest numbers and allotted different rooms, about ten people in each room. Then happened something that I never expected, never wanted. My phone was taken from me.
After lunch, we went for the next phase, a psychological test. The test continued for about 3 hrs and after that we returned to our room after dinner. After getting in, I got time to interact with my new friends. We just had a small chat and went to bed soon.
The next day was our group task day. We get dressed in our PT uniform and went for the task after the breakfast. But before that we had a group photograph.
We went to the GD room for the task. There were two discussions and I think I performed exceptionally well there. I initiated in both and was able to control the group. And then followed the group planning, group task, half group task, command task etc. all went good except the command task. It was the worst of all.
After finishing with the schedule, we went out to visit nearby Buddha Temple, had momos and played pool for the first time. That night, I had a better interaction with my roommates and as expected, there were some impossible guys.
The third day was a bit odd. The day started with a lecturate and a small group task. I couldn’t really perform well in both and then it was time for the interview. It didn’t went too good but had a good first time experience. The day ended without much excitement but the night was much more exciting.  Suddenly some discussion broke out and it went for about 4 to 5 hrs. and still nobody was ready to sleep.
The next day, we were free. We played pool for half of the day, went out in the evening to a waterfall. It was a nice experience. I tried some swimming there but found it really hard.

That night was our last night, so we decided not to sleep. We had a chat for about two hours, cracked some jokes and then all went to bed. But this was not all. Just after all went to bed, three of us decided to have some fun and that was the most amazing part. We disturbed everyone by putting water in their mouth, ears etc.
The next day was the last. Only event left was a conference, a formal chat with the officials. But it was rarely a chat. I just spent few seconds there and couldn’t even have a look on the face of the officials. After the conference, result was declared and as expected, I was not recommended. I was rather happy not being selected.  I don’t know why, may be I was not mentally prepared.
But it was all. I collected my T.A, congratulated the recommended one’s and went back with one of my friend. We had a terrible journey back to Ludhiana, but still a new experience.
These were those few days of my life that taught me a lot.

....chandigarh....

Chandigarh, what a city!!
Each and everything planned to the best of it. A city provided with each and everything required for a comfortable city life. People come here and spend some most beautiful moments of their life. Some go back and some stay here who fall in love with this city, and may be someone else.
I also got a chance to spend some memorable days in this capital city. Some days, which may not be most beautiful days of my life, but still  I got some memories that will stay forever.
I don't know why I selected Chandigarh for my so called training classes. I didn't went as good as expected but still I managed to enjoy those days, thanks to my friends.
I did many thing that were the first of my life. For the first time I was away from home for a month. For the first time I enjoyed my classes and went more then frank with my teacher. And for the first time I stayed with some of my impossible friends. I don't know even if I learned something or not but over all, it all went good.
It was our first week in Chandigarh and from the very first day, we went out. 17,22,35.... all were done within a week which made us think that nothing is left and the city is not as big as we heard. On our first weekend, we decided to visit some museums. Which was never a great idea and we end up roaming on the roads, thirsty and hungry. Thanks to one of my another impossible friend. But still we managed to get some nice clicks in the gardens nearby. So from that day, we decided not to go for any museums.
As the time wheel started rolling, we started getting on the track. Our daily routine became more comfortable and lazier. Being late for class was usual. Nothing new was happening except on the weekends. Every weekend we went out for having some some fun and a good look at the city. One weekend we went to Mansa Devi and to Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake on another weekend. We did have some splendorous moments over there. Here are some clicks which will never let me forget this city beautiful.

..last words of the year......

Hi friends
As you all know only few hours are left and then we have to bid this year good bye. But before this year ends, I tried to recall some beautiful memories of this year.
Like every year, I made some resolutions this year too but I rarely managed to accomplish them, just like the past years. But still I managed to improve myself a bit.
I thank all of them who made this year memorable for me. Especially my dear friends who were always there for me, whenever I need them. I also thank my parents who helped me for each and everything.
I believe that it is okay if you forgot to thank someone for his help but you should not forgot to say sorry to him if ever you have hurt him.
So SORRY friends for whatever wrong I have done to you. Please try to forgive me.
I promise, this year I will try my best to make you happy. And also I will try to do something for which you might not forget me for a long time.
At last I thank you again for being an important part of my life.

..an adventurous trip to HEMKUND SAHIB….

20th June, 2010
It was a just like a common day. But something that made it a special one is our(me, Atinder,Buta and Mohit) discussion for a trip. We all proposed our ideas but all were not that which we were looking for. Suddenly Atinder said that “why don’t hemkund sahib?” He said that he had gone there earlier and it will be helpful for us. We both agreed because it was the place we were looking for. So the programme was set and we planned to go after the training. We found “Buta” as our fourth companion.
6th July, 2010
It was the night before we leave for the trip. We were packing our bags and were calling each other for silly things. I slept early after packing as we have to leave early on the morning. All was set except the camera which we couldn’t arrange till the next day morning.
7th July, 2010
It was the day we were to start my first trip with my friends. I woke up early and got ready to go. I left early for the bus stand. But the day was not so good. It started raining heavily but thank god the rain stopped till I reach Moga. Buta was waiting for me over there. We both left for Ludhiana where we were to meet Atinder and catch the train. But it was again our bad luck. We heard that all the trains were cancelled due to heavy rain. We have to change the plan and we turned to Ludhiana bus stand. We took a bus to Ambala after waiting for almost two hours for Atinder. At Ambala we met Mohit who was waiting there for us from 4 hours.
At Ambala ,there was flood like situation. The bus stand was full of water and people were waiting for the buses on roads. Somehow we got a bus to Haridwar. From there we took a bus and went to Rishikesh where we stayed for the night in the Gurudwara.
8th July, 2010
We woke up early and after prayer in the Gurudwara and we took a bus and left for Srinagar. We reached there by 1500 hrs . After lunch and resting for a while, we went out for roaming. We went to the riverside of Alaknanda. It was a beautiful place with some splendorous views. There was also a walk over bridge. Though it was closed due to its poor condition but still we got on to that to click some photographs. After that we moved towards the river. We started throwing stones in the river  and started counting the tosses on the water. After a lot of fun, we returned to the Gurudwara, had our dinner and slept with some new aspirations for the next day.
Here are some of the pictures clicked at Srinagar…………

  9th July, 2010
We have to leave that day for Gobind Ghat. So after the prayer, we went to the bus stop from where we got a bus to Gobind Ghat. I was an adventurous journey in which we saw number of beautiful places. In the midway, we saw number of people crowding the road and ambulances. A school bus had fallen into the river. We heard that all the passengers were dead except a small child and the conductor.
It was a breath taking incident. We moved ahead watching the landscapes and the clouds coming nearer to us. We reached Gobind Ghat by 1700 hrs. It was a chilling place. Our room was near to the river and   loud noise of the water striking the big rocks can be easily heard. At night, after the dinner we went to the nearest market. There was no network coverage over there. So we tried to call our parents from the PCO but all in vain.
10th July, 2010
That day we had to start the trekking. After the daily prayer we went to the market and bought sticks. Then we started our trekking after a photograph at bridge. We had a great start but we soon get tired and started sweating. After resting for a while and changing the clothes we started again. It was a long tiring journey of about 13km. But the journey was very exciting. The way through the mountains and the dense forests. Here are some of the photos clicked in way:
We reached our destination for the day in about 6 hrs. The place was at a much higher altitude and the clouds were all around us. The temperature was freezing cold. Just after spending a hour outside we went back to the room to have a nap  because it was chilling outside.
11th July, 2010
It was the day we had to reach the top. We started early as we had to return back the same day because there was no place of accommodation on the top. But the route was a tougher one. The temperature started falling as we were moving up. When we reached the top, we were all lost between the clouds. Nothing was visible except the white fog everywhere. Soon after resting for few minutes we went to “sarover” for a holy bath. The water was icy cold. Then we went to “darbaar sahib”. The environment inside was so peaceful and warm that no one was willing to come out. After the “ardaas” and a cup of tea, we started our return journey. We were really quick while returning because we moving back downhill. And within few hours and returned back to “gobind ghat” covering a distance of 19km at once. That day we covered a total distance of about 25km. We were really tired that day. In the evening we went to the market for some shopping.
12th July, 2010
It was the most unlucky day of our whole trip. We went to the bus stop by 8 to take a bus back to Rishikesh. But they was no till 11. At last we a got taxi to next station where a get the bus but, still it was not the end of our bad luck. The bus was not going to rishikesh. But still we took that because there no other option. Soon after found another problem. The road was closed and he had to stop there waiting for the road to be opened. But thanks to the driver whose took an alternate route. But the road was not a good one. It was very and the traffic was almost doubled. Somehow he managed to get to main road but it took us two extra hours. Our plan to reach rishikesh that day was no more alive. The bus took us to the half way from where we hired a taxi to Srinagar. It was a bit happy end to our unlucky day.
13th July, 2010
This was going be our last day of the trip. We woke up early and without any kind of breakfast, we went to the bus stop and took the bus to Haridwar. Atinder and Mohit left in the noon but I and Buta decided to stay there for the rest of the day and roam in Haridwar. Our train was at 9 in the night. So we both went out. We also went to the holy Ganga river and stayed there a while and went back to the railway station for our train. We got the train at time and reached Ludhiana at 7 in the next morning from where we took the bus back home.
It was really a adventurous trip that will never slip out of my memories……

..starting blogging...

Hi friends...
I have just made this blog to stay always in touch with you and to share all my views, emotions and experiences.
Hope you will like it.
The first thing I want to say is "SORRY".
Sorry to all my friends whom I have hurt and did not said sorry.
I said sorry because I believe that it is the most difficult thing to say to someone close to you.
Or I cannot dare to say sorry because of my shyness or something else.
I hope you will forgive me.
Another thing I want to say is "THANK YOU ALL" for being a part of my life and making it so special.
